Branding a personality; “Your voice, your presence”

Today's Tip – Branding a personality; “Your voice, your presence” -

There is nothing more powerful than lending your voice to an ear of those willing to listen. People care about things that THEY are involved in. Not so much what YOU tell them to be involved in. The brilliance of people has always started with one thing, “SELF”. We are more interested in ourselves than anything else in the world. And well we should be, because without us we are not alive or having the power to move forward. So creating a voice to be connected with, is powerful.

In almost every situation when a person comes up to you on the street and says “Can I talk with you about something?” you already assume they are selling something to you. If you walk into a store with “sales-people” and THEY come up to you, you are already in the mindset not to listen because THEY are trying to sell you something. Though, if you walk over to someone and ask for help, or a question, you are more than willing to listen. The idea is to bring that situation to the opposite side. Approach people (through the internet, or in person) with that idea “I am going to them, to listen to what they have to say”. You'll get more out of a person that way.

Branding is important for anything you are interested in doing. First and foremost people HAVE to connect with you. They don't want to hear about what you are doing. They want you to hear about what they think of what you are doing. How do you get opinions without saying “Look at me and what I am doing?”? That is easy. You simply create a voice. A voice is your opinion spread out into art design of your company/self, your words used, slogans, and anything that represents you. How do you feel about things, not so much asking other people “how do you feel about THIS?”. This being whatever it is you are selling.

Example - “I think I am falling in love with the musician's life. I just enjoy hearing new songs being written. It's like moving forward without pause.”

Bad Example - “I can't wait till I am done writing these songs of mine. You'll all love them, and please check out the lyrics for now. And pass it along too.”

Just sayin' people ARE listening, but not everyone hears what you are presenting to them.
